Issue of a certificate from the state military historical archives directorate - Veliko Tarnovo

Types of certificates

  • Work experience certificate by State Military Historical Archives Directorate – Veliko Tarnovo;
  • Insurable earnings certificate by State Military Historical Archives Directorate – Veliko Tarnovo;
  • Conscription certificate by State Military Historical Archives Directorate – Veliko Tarnovo;
  • Certificate of education at a higher military school / secondary sergeant school by State Military Historical Archives Directorate – Veliko Tarnovo;
  • Certificate and an academic transcript by State Military Historical Archives Directorate – Veliko Tarnovo;
  • War Veteran certificate by State Military Historical Archives Directorate – Veliko Tarnovo;
  • Awarded with Order “For Bravery” certificate by State Military Historical Archives Directorate – Veliko Tarnovo;

Specification

The certificates issued by the State Military Historical Archives Directorate – Veliko Tarnovo shall prove the length of service, the insurable earnings and the social status of citizens – military servicemen/servicewomen, civilians and their heirs.

Submitting requests for issuing

Necessary documents

  • For issuing Work experience certificate: length of service; military post office number; position(s) of the applicant.
  • For issuing Insurable earnings certificate: length of service; military post office number; position(s) of the applicant; the military unit, keeping the applicant’s financial records.
  • For issuing Conscription certificate: place of birth; residence during the service; the military district that handed over the call up order (for Sofia – Regional Military District); period of service; military post office number; if the applicant has other names during the service (name, father’s name and surname have to be written).
  • For issuing a Certificate of education at a higher military school / secondary sergeant school: place of birth; the name of the military educational establishment in which he/she has been trained; specialty; period of training at the educational establishment.
  • For issuing a Certificate and an academic transcript: place of birth; the name of the military educational establishment in which he/she has been trained; specialty; period of training at the educational establishment.
  • For issuing a War Veteran certificate: place of birth; with which military unit he/she took part in the Operational Area of War Action.
  • For issuing an Awarded with Order “For Bravery” certificate: place of birth; with which military unit he/she took part in the Operational Area of War Action; when and with what distinction is awarded.

Note: For issuing a duplicate of a War Veteran certificate and Awarded with Order “For Bravery” certificate, the applicant shall indicate the number of the certificate.

  • For issuing a Certificate of treatment in a military medical facility: the period of treatment and in which facility was it conducted.

Note: For certificates issued on the basis of the Central Military Medical Commission’s archives it is necessary that the applicant provide the military post office number and the date of release from office.

  • Heir/s of War Veterans certificate: the name, father’s name and surname of the veteran, the place of birth, the War Veteran certificate number; with which military unit he/she took part in the Operational Area of War Action.
  • For issuing a Certificate of a military service in a mission abroad and degree of risk: place of birth, place of residence during the service, period of participation in the mission.

Receiving the service product

Fees and service payment

  • Submitting a standard application – 5.00 BGN
  • Issuing a certificate – 10.00 BGN
  • Issuing a duplicate of a certificate – 5.00 BGN

Note: Individuals requesting issuing a War Veteran certificate and an Awarded with Order “For Bravery” certificate are exempt from payment of the state fees.

Term for providing the service

According to Art. 37 (4) of the Rules on the order and organization of the use of archival records in the Archives State Agency – the duration shall be up to 10 calendar days and in a broader study up to 20 calendar days.

Internal service proceedings

  • Following the successful registration of the application in the records management system of the Archives SA the applicant receives notification on the provided email address, containing information about: unique registration identification (URI) number of the application in the records management system of the Archives SA, the date of the application registration and unique numerical access code. With this information the applicant can track the progress on his or her document in section “Service status” in the Archives SA electronic services portal;
  • The following steps in the process of application processing are detailed in the Law on the National Archival Fonds (LNAF), the Regulation for the procedure of use of the National Archival Fonds' records and the Rules for the procedure and the organization of the archival records' use in the Archives State Agency.

Note: If the application is incomplete (text not properly completed or lack of information for issuing reader’s card), the applicant shall be notified with instruction to fix the problem within three days (art. 30 of the Administrative Procedural Codex).
