Specification
“Archives” State Agency provides microfilming of documents outside of the National Archival Fonds. Microfilming is done only in the photo laboratory of the “Digitisation, Restoration, Conservation and Microfilming” (DRCM) Directorate. For each specific case the number of pages for microfilming, the condition of the documents, their format, the time necessary for microfilming are specified.

Fees and service payment
- Receiving request on a standard form – BGN 5,00;
- Microfilming charges:
- up to 500 frames – BGN 0,50 per frame.
- over 500 frames – BGN 0,30 per frame.
Note: The charge is paid before the delivery and elaboration of the microfilms.

Term for providing the service
The microfilming terms are determined individually for each particular case depending on the format and condition of the documents, the number of pages for microfilming and the availability of consumables at the DRCM Directorate.
Internal service proceedings
- Following the successful registration of the application in the records management system of the “Archives” SA the applicant receives notification on the provided email address, containing information about: unique registration identification (URI) number of the application in the records management system of the “Archives” SA, the date of the application registration and unique numerical access code. With this information the applicant can track the progress on his or her document in section “Service status” in the “Archives” SA electronic services portal.
- The applicant receives information on the total service charge, the delivery time of the records for microfilming and the term for microfilming implementation. This is done after prior arrangement with the applicant.
- The applicant pays the initially determined charge and ensures delivery of the records to the DRCM Directorate photolaboratory at the “Archives” SA building on 5 “Moskovska” Str., where the microfilming takes place.
- The applicant receives information regarding the completion of the microfilming and when he or she may receive the completed microfilms and the original records.
- The applicant ensures the collection of the records and the microfilms.
Note: When filling in the application it is very important to fill in the field “Description of the subject of the microfilming application” and to point out the number of pages for microfilming.
Note: If the application is incomplete (text not properly completed or lack of information for issuing reader’s card), the applicant shall be notified with instruction to fix the problem within three days (art. 30 of the Administrative Procedural Codex).
